St. Petersburg, Florida – A local reptile enthusiast has launched a new wildlife rescue and education business aimed at tackling the problem of invasive species in the Sunshine State. Carmen Santucci, a longtime animal lover, announced that his company, The Herpertarium, will offer animal trapping and removal services in response to increasing concerns about non-native reptiles affecting Florida’s ecosystems.

With a passion for reptiles and spiders that began in childhood, Santucci has made a career out of collecting and selling various reptiles. Over the years, he has traveled extensively across Florida trapping and rescuing a range of animals, including notorious invasive species such as Burmese pythons and iguanas. His commitment to the cause has led him to obtain several licenses from the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.

The Herpertarium has officially rebranded Santucci’s existing efforts, partnering with Devin Dziubinski to expand their mission. The company aims to provide professional animal trapping and rescue services for homes, businesses, and public spaces, particularly focusing on the greater Tampa Bay area, with future plans for broader reach throughout Florida.

Service rates at The Herpertarium are tiered according to the type of animal being trapped and removed, typically ranging from $25 to $75. This comprehensive service includes monthly checks for clients to ensure that no venomous animals are present, a feature that sets them apart from most other trappers in the region.
