Miami, Florida – Umphrey’s McGee continued their tour in the Sunshine State over the weekend, performing at the Miami Beach Bandshell on May 31 and Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on June 1, 2025. These shows marked a pivotal moment for the band, as they featured new drummer Duane Trucks for the first time following the recent departure of Kris Myers on May 13.
The Miami concert was notable not only for Trucks’ debut but also for the revival of several rare tracks. Among these was “Dirty Love,” a cover of a Frank Zappa song, which had not been played since February 3, 2023. Additionally, the encore included “Cocaine,” marking its first performance since March 5, 2020, concluding a gap of 351 concerts. Another highlight was the performance of “1,000 Places to See Before You Die” during the preceding Orlando show on May 30, which ended a 150-show hiatus.
During the St. Petersburg show, the band continued their trend of “bust-outs,” performing “Yoga Pants” with newly added lyrics for the first time since November 2, 2019, thus ending a 380-show absence. The encore also featured “Can’t You See,” a cover from the Marshall Tucker Band that had not been played since July 23, 2022.
