Keon Dawson and Raymond Adams face multiple charges after allegedly firing at a victim who thankfully escaped unharmed. In a series of events that could have turned disastrous, Keon Dawson, 30, and Raymond Adams, 36, were taken into custody after they allegedly opened fire in a busy neighborhood.
The drama all began on Wednesday afternoon, January 29, 2025, near the 2200 block of 14th Avenue North. As people were wrapping up their day, gunfire erupted just before 5 p.m., prompting several concerned citizens to report the alarming sounds to the police. Eyewitness accounts indicate that the two men approached the victim as he stepped out of his vehicle, unleashing a barrage of shots as he made his way to the street.
As the victim’s car was hit multiple times by the incoming bullets, he miraculously emerged unscathed. The assailants, however, didn’t stick around to see how their actions would unfold. Instead, they sped away in a black Nissan Altima that, mysteriously, had no license plate. Just another day in St. Pete turned into a scene right out of a crime drama!
But the incident didn’t end there! Officers in the area soon spotted the fleeing vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. However, Dawson and Adams were in no mood to pull over, leading the police on a high-speed chase through the city. The action-packed pursuit finally came to a halt at 5th Avenue North and 40th Street North as the Altima was cornered.
Once they stopped, the two men made a dash for it, hopping out of the vehicle and fleeing on foot, but they didn’t get far. A well-trained K9 unit was on the scene and quickly apprehended both suspects, bringing the chase to an end. Talk about an epic police response!
As officers searched the Altima, they made a shocking discovery—an assault rifle found tucked away in the backseat along with a handgun located nearby. Adding a twist to this already tangled tale, it came to light that Dawson and Adams were known to the victim and had been embroiled in an ongoing dispute for some time.
Currently, both men face serious legal repercussions, including multiple counts of attempted first-degree murder. Dawson, in particular, has an extensive list of additional charges, which includes throwing a deadly missile, two counts of criminal mischief, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and even leaving the scene of a crash that caused property damage.
