Among the highlights are a comedy show featuring Matt Braunger on May 16, a Free Community Tree Giveaway for Gulfport residents on May 17, and the St. Pete Italian Fest also on May 17. Other notable events include a range of artistic exhibitions and community gatherings.
On May 16, comedy fans can catch Matt Braunger Live at 7 p.m. in St. Petersburg. The comedian is known for his performances on popular television shows such as BoJack Horseman and Upload.
Ricky T’s Bar & Grille in Treasure Island will host a Grand Reopening Party on May 16 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., featuring live music. Later that evening, the HeadTones will perform from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Blueberry Patch in Gulfport, requiring a $10 donation at the gate.
For jazz enthusiasts, the Hot Tonic Jazz Jam will take place at Gulfport Brewery on May 19 at 6 p.m. On May 20, guests can enjoy a Poetry Night at Imagine Museum at 6 p.m. and an Ink and Drink Workshop at Suntan Art Center for creative journaling, starting at 6:30 p.m. for $35.
The weekend will feature local markets, beginning with the Saturday Morning Market on May 17 at Al Lang Stadium Parking Lot, where over 50 local vendors will offer fresh produce and crafts. Additionally, on May 17, families can enjoy a St. Pete Walking Mural Tour from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with tickets priced between $15 and $25, free for children under 5.

The iMAGiNE NATiON Exhibition at Creative Pinellas has been extended until August 10 and features artist iBOMS exploring themes of the Black experience. Meanwhile, the Brenda McMahon Art Gallery is calling for entries for a juried group exhibition titled “What does democracy look like?”, which will run from July 1 to August 30.
On May 17, the Tampa Bay Rowdies will compete in a soccer match at Al Lang Stadium starting at 7:30 p.m. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy this community sporting event.
Dogs and their owners can look forward to the Dog Bar Prom on May 18 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Dog Bar St. Petersburg, a unique event focused on the furry companions. For comedy lovers, the Dark and Dirty Comedy Show will take place at Sunshine City Comedy Club starting at 10:30 p.m. on May 18 for $15.
In addition to special events, several weekly activities are scheduled, including the Keep Calm, Carry Yarn knitting and crochet group every Tuesday at Gulfport Public Library at 10:15 a.m. and Gulfport Food Forest Gardening assistance every Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. to noon at Clymer Park.
Residents can also attend the Office Hours with Commissioner Robinson at St. Pete Beach Library at 5 p.m. on selected days to engage with local government and address community concerns.
