Stephen McKenzie, 34, is accused of killing his estranged girlfriend Julia Cruz, 32, and three of her four children before turning the gun on himself.
The incident unfolded shortly after 7:30 p.m., leading to a devastating outcome where 11-year-old Xion Solomon, 2-year-old twins Nova and Emery McKenzie, and their mother were fatally harmed. The couple’s other child, 8-year-old Phiinyx Solomon, survived the attack and is currently in serious condition at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Following the shooting, McKenzie shot himself and later succumbed to his injuries the next day at HCA Florida Aventura Hospital.
