St. Petersburg, Florida – No Vacancy, a cherished bar and restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg, has officially closed its doors after 6.5 years of operation. The establishment, located at 937 Central Avenue in the EdGE District, was announced to be closing by owner Stephen Schrutt through a poignant social media message, expressing heartfelt gratitude for the support received throughout the years.
No Vacancy first opened in January 2019, taking over the space previously held by Kings Street Food Counter. Known for its vintage Florida charm, the venue featured a retro-inspired dining area alongside an indoor bar and an outdoor bar crafted from shipping containers. The outdoor space included a sizable 1,400-square-foot patio, which became a favorite spot for patrons. Here, guests could enjoy tiki cocktails, craft beers, and small bites under the shade of pink umbrellas and comfortable lawn chairs.
Over the years, No Vacancy emerged as a beloved gathering place, attracting both local residents and tourists alike. The bar’s laid-back vibe and emphasis on an “everyday vacation” atmosphere made it a popular destination in the area.
