St. Petersburg – The body of 17-year-old Allister Nasr, who was reported missing earlier this month, has been discovered in the Weedon Island Preserve. Police confirmed the remains were found on March 15, following a series of extensive search efforts that began after he was reported missing on March 7.

Allister Nasr was last seen leaving his home near the 6500 block of Bayou Grande Boulevard around 10 a.m. on March 1. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing blue shorts, a gray sweatshirt, and white shoes, and was riding a white beach cruiser bicycle. Shortly after leaving, he reportedly dropped off a black backpack at a nearby school and switched to a red backpack.

Concerns for Allister’s safety emerged leading to the issuance of a Florida Missing Child Alert on March 7. His disappearance prompted law enforcement to initiate an extensive search, which was fueled by evidence indicating potential safety issues regarding Allister. The search intensified after his bicycle was located near the Weedon Island Preserve on March 12, leading to the involvement of cadaver dogs, bloodhounds for tracking, and aerial drones. Unfortunately, initial search efforts yielded no positive results.

On March 15, police discovered Allister’s body in the Weedon Island Preserve. The Pinellas County medical examiner later confirmed that the remains belonged to him. At present, there are no signs of trauma or foul play noted at the scene, although the medical examiner has yet to determine a cause of death.

The Nasr family has expressed profound grief following the tragic loss of their son. In light of their situation, they have requested privacy during this challenging time. Additionally, they took a moment to thank the community for their unwavering support throughout the search for Allister.

Prior to the discovery of his body, authorities had classified Allister as an endangered missing person, reflecting serious concerns regarding potential self-harm. The widespread search highlighted the community’s commitment to assisting law enforcement in locating the teenager and ensuring his safety.

The situation serves as a sobering reminder of the vulnerabilities that young individuals can face. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on uncovering the circumstances surrounding Allister’s tragic death to bring clarity to his family and the community at large. Police have confirmed ongoing inquiries but thus far have not released further details regarding the investigation.
