Miami-Dade Sees Wild Police Chase After Burglary Attempt at Rapper Swae Lee’s Home

What started as a routine evening in Miami-Dade County took an unexpected twist when three suspects, including two teenagers and a 20-year-old, were caught attempting to burglarize vehicles at the residence of famous rapper Swae Lee. Located in a quiet neighborhood on the 7800 block of Southwest 83rd Court, the rapper’s home became the scene of a dramatic police chase that had locals talking.

The Sneaky Heist

It all began when the band of burglars arrived at Swae Lee’s home in a flashy Dodge Charger. Dressed in ski masks—talk about a shady look one might see in the movies—two suspects jumped a fence to access the parked vehicles outside the property. While one was clad in a light blue tracksuit, the other showed up wearing a khaki hoodie. Talk about picking the wrong house for a nighttime escapade!

A Heroic Homeowner

Little did the thieves know, a vigilant homeowner was keeping an eye on the property. When the homeowner spotted the suspicious activity, he bravely confronted the young crooks. In a bid to scare them off without resorting to violence, he fired a shot into the ground. The ploy seemed to work as the would-be thieves hightailed it back over the fence, hopping into their getaway car—the Dodge Charger—and speeding away.

A Quick but Chaotic Chase

But their escape wasn’t as smooth as they had hoped. Just moments later, police officers on patrol spotted the Dodge Charger cruising down the Palmetto Expressway. The chase escalated quickly, with Florida Highway Patrol troopers springing into action. Thanks to their sharp skills, the officers managed to disable the vehicle near Northwest 74th Street. With nowhere to run, the suspects made a last-ditch effort and tried to escape on foot. Unfortunately for them, their freedom was short-lived as they were soon apprehended.

The Fallout

The driver of the getaway vehicle, identified as Kenneth Ervin, 18, was taken into custody alongside his accomplices, Kamari Jackson, 20, and Payton Pierre, 18. While Jackson reportedly entered the driver’s side of an unlocked Jeep Wrangler and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, Pierre attempted entry into a locked black Rolls Royce SUV. He did enter a rented Volkswagen SUV, but thankfully, nothing was stolen from it. It looks like crime doesn’t always pay!

Charges and Consequences

All three suspects were taken to the Kendall police station, where they asserted their rights to remain silent—an apparent strategy many employ when wanting to avoid incrimination. Ultimately, they faced serious charges, including burglary of an occupied dwelling while masked and burglary of an unoccupied conveyance. Fortuitously, no injuries were reported during this wild chain of events, leaving the residents of Miami-Dade and Swae Lee himself to breathe a sigh of relief.

A Lesson Learned?

As the sun sets on this bizarre incident, one has to wonder: will these teenagers take this close call as a lesson learned, or will they be back at it again in the future? Whatever the case, it’s clear that a little street smarts and vigilance can go a long way in keeping our neighborhoods safe!
