St. Petersburg residents, get ready for some mouthwatering news! The beloved fondue restaurant, The Melting Pot, is set to make its grand reopening on April 7th, 2024. This time, it has a chic new look and a great location at 699 Central Avenue, right on the corner of 7th Street. After a long wait, fondue fans are ready to dip back into deliciousness!
For over 32 years, The Melting Pot was a staple at its previous address at 2221 4th Street North, where it became a cherished spot for romantic dinners, special occasions, and family gatherings. Sadly, the doors closed in the spring of 2020 when the real estate owner decided to sell the property. While the pandemic certainly played a role in many closures, this one was primarily due to the building’s sale.
Fast forward to today, and the excitement levels are off the charts! The new restaurant is a spacious 4,900 square feet with beautiful renovations that promise to impress. Imagine large, impact-resistant fold-up windows and charming New Orleans-style balconies that invite in the lovely St. Petersburg sunshine. The renovations were first announced way back in July 2021, and the wait is finally over!
The design features an open seating plan, perfect for cozy dinners or festive gatherings with friends. Diners can choose from comfortable booths, traditional tables, and a sleek bar that opens right onto bustling Central Avenue. There’s something for everyone, and the vibe will be just as warm and inviting as it always has been.
The Melting Pot is known for its truly unique dining experience, where fondue takes center stage. Guests can dive into a delightful four-course or à la carte meal that includes cheese fondue, fresh salads, savory entrées, and sweet chocolate fondue for that perfect finish. Signature cheese fondues like Wisconsin Cheddar and Spinach Artichoke are sure to tantalize your taste buds, while options for protein lovers include scrumptious shrimp and filet mignon.
