Florida is introducing the Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program, aimed at nurturing FinTech and Dual-Use & Defense Tech startups. Set to commence this fall, the program features hybrid accelerator sessions across West Palm Beach and Miami. Mentorship from influential CEOs and a Demo Day for pitching ideas to industry leaders are integral components. Applications will open in mid-August, providing a unique chance for startups ready to scale and engage with Florida’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Florida is set to launch a new initiative called the Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program this fall, designed to foster technology startups focused on FinTech and Dual-Use & Defense Tech. This innovative program is a collaborative effort between The Florida Council of 100, eMerge Americas, and Related Ross, aiming to enhance the tech landscape in Southeast Florida.

The Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program will consist of exclusive hybrid 8-week accelerator programs. The FinTech program is scheduled to be hosted in West Palm Beach, taking advantage of Related Ross’ commercial space, while the Dual-Use & Defense Tech program will take place in Miami, facilitated by The LAB Miami in Wynwood. Both programs are expected to connect 10 to 12 startups with mentorship from some of Florida’s most influential CEOs and business leaders.

Stephen Ross, CEO of Related Ross, has highlighted Florida’s potential to emerge as a tech-driven global business hub, reinforcing the importance of this initiative in supporting economic growth. The Gold Coast region has witnessed significant growth over the past five years, contributing to Florida’s economic development and its burgeoning reputation as a center for innovation.

Florida currently ranks second in the United States for Finance and Insurance GDP growth, outperforming prominent states like New York and California. Additionally, the state holds the second position in defense manufacturing, generating over $100 billion annually in economic impact. The development of the Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program is set against this backdrop of economic vitality and innovation.

Startups accepted into the program must have a proven product that is ready to scale and be willing to explore corporate partnerships within Florida. As part of the accelerator experience, participants will benefit from a Demo Day where they can pitch their ideas to members of The Florida Council of 100, offering invaluable exposure and networking opportunities.

Applications for the Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program will open on August 15, 2023, with more details available on goldcoasttechfl.com. Interested startups are encouraged to prepare their applications in advance to take advantage of this unique opportunity to grow within Florida’s supportive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The Florida Council of 100, a key partner in this initiative, comprises over 200 affiliated companies that collectively impact more than 1.3 million workers across the state. This extensive network is designed to support and influence the growth of Florida’s economy, particularly within technology and innovation sectors.

eMerge Americas is recognized for its global tech conference, aiming to connect innovation and drive advancements across various industries. By partnering in this initiative, eMerge Americas strengthens its commitment to fostering a vibrant tech community in Florida.

Related Ross has played a significant role in the development of West Palm Beach and is actively involved in luxury residential and commercial real estate projects. The firm’s collaboration in the Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program showcases its ongoing commitment to enhancing the region’s economic landscape and supporting the next generation of tech startups.

The launch of the Gold Coast Tech Accelerator Program represents a pivotal moment for Southeast Florida’s tech ecosystem, positioning the region as an attractive investment destination and reshaping how technology is integrated within its economic framework. With the combination of strategic mentorship and a supportive network, the program aims to cultivate the next wave of innovation in FinTech and defense technologies.
