Deerfield Beach is buzzing with unsettling headlines lately as the community grapples with several serious criminal incidents. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office (BSO) is on the case, examining a recent homicide that has left residents shocked and concerned for their safety.
Tragically, a man named Bobby Abernathy II was shot late on April 10, and the events have sent ripples through the community. Reports started rolling in at approximately 1:17 a.m. when authorities received calls about a shooting victim located at 1200 SW 11th Way. Upon arrival, deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue discovered Abernathy lying in a parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at Broward Health North Hospital soon after.
In the wake of this incident, BSO’s homicide unit quickly sprang into action to piece together the details surrounding Abernathy’s death. They have even released a photo of a light-colored SUV, which they believe is linked to the crime. BSO is urging anyone who might have seen something or knows details about that fateful night to come forward. Detective Kristina Luna is the go-to officer for tips, and community members are encouraged to share any info via the SaferWatch app. If anonymity is your preference, you can always reach out to Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS for potential cash rewards.
Pimentel, who hails from Miami, is now facing charges that include occupied residential burglary, grand theft, and possessing a firearm during a felony act. It appears he might even be in the hot seat for additional crimes across the Broward area.
