St. Petersburg, FL – A new French-Moroccan restaurant named Cybel is set to open on November 1, 2025, in the historic Kenwood neighborhood. Located at 2735 5th Avenue North, the venue occupies what was previously Sammy + Paco’s Café and aims to provide a unique dining experience that merges culinary influences from both France and Morocco.

Cybel will offer dinner service from 5 PM to 11 PM, with the restaurant also accepting reservations for eager diners. Upon its opening, guests can take advantage of a temporary BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) option. This initiative allows patrons to enjoy their favorite beverages while experiencing the restaurant’s diverse menu.

Previously, Cybel operated out of a ghost kitchen at Foodie Labs for eight months, where it garnered a loyal following primarily through its unique offering of French Tacos, appealing to local diners and food enthusiasts alike. Chef Touf Abdelmoula, who leads the culinary team, brings to the table a wealth of experience, having honed his skills across three continents—Africa, France, and the United States.

With a focus on enhancing the dining experience, Cybel combines refined culinary techniques with warm hospitality. The menu is set to feature a delightful blend of French and Moroccan dishes, with signature items showcasing bold spices, succulent meats, and traditional comfort foods inspired by Moroccan heritage.

Key offerings will include tagines, which are traditional Moroccan stews typically enjoyed during family gatherings. Additional menu highlights will consist of small plates such as lemon hummus with chicken shawarma, as well as various sandwiches including chicken cordon bleu and kofta burgers. The diverse menu reflects Chef Abdelmoula’s rich cultural background and culinary prowess.

The newly established restaurant will feature 2,600 square feet of dining space, optimized for both casual gatherings and elegant dining experiences. In addition to the dine-in options, Cybel is planning to implement a robust catering program for special events, further expanding its reach within the community.

Chef Touf Abdelmoula, originally from the Ivory Coast, spent part of his childhood in Morocco, where he developed a deep appreciation for the intricacies of the country’s cuisine and culture. This personal journey has inspired him to create a dining venue that introduces the flavors of Morocco alongside classic French cuisine, making Cybel the first restaurant of its kind in the St. Petersburg area.

Looking forward, Cybel is expected to operate seven days a week, with doors opening every day from 11 AM to 11 PM, allowing ample opportunity for locals and visitors to indulge in its offerings. As the countdown to its grand opening continues, anticipation builds for what promises to be a vibrant addition to St. Petersburg’s culinary landscape.
