St. Petersburg, Florida – Bobby McAffee, a 62-year-old resident of Clearwater, has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse involving an 8-year-old boy, with allegations that he has also transmitted HIV to the child. The arrest follows a report made to authorities in August 2024, triggering an investigation that uncovered shocking details about the alleged crime.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office reported that the abuse occurred when the victim was pinned down by McAffee with his arms held above his head during the assault. This distressing incident was disclosed to law enforcement last year, prompting detectives to collect further evidence and interview both the victim and the accused.
During an interview with detectives on May 30, 2025, McAffee confessed to having “sexual contact” with the young boy. Investigators subsequently learned that McAffee had tested positive for HIV. Following the investigation, McAffee has been charged with one count of sexual battery of a child under the age of 12.
