Brad was known for his immense heart, quick humor, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones, especially his son, Jackson. The bond between Brad and Jackson was highlighted by shared interests in sports, with both enjoying numerous moments filled with laughter and competition. Brad considered Jackson to be his proudest accomplishment and described him as the “heartbeat of his life.”
In addition to his role as a father, Brad had a deep-seated passion for sports. He was an avid enthusiast of Chicago sports teams and held a special affinity for the New York Yankees. Brad expressed his love for sports not only through cheering for his favorite teams but also by engaging in cooking, sharing his culinary creations with family and friends.
Brad is survived by his son, Jackson, and Jackson’s partner, Alyssa Gaseor, both residing in St. Petersburg, Florida. His family also includes his mother, Julie Stafford of Tucson, Arizona; his father, David Stafford (and partner Kim) of Ottawa, Illinois; and his grandmother, Patricia Kirkman of Tucson, Arizona. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Jessica and Megan Stafford, both of whom live in Illinois and Arizona, respectively. Extended family members include Traci Gaseor, Robert Gaseor, Kera Gaseor, and Jessica Gaseor, along with several nieces and nephews: Alex, Brady, and Carter Stafford, Brandon and Ashlyn Gutierrez, and Nylah Cosper, in addition to one great-niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Gerald Houchin, Roland Stafford, and Norma Stafford.
Following his passing, cremation services are being arranged through a local funeral home. In honor of Brad’s legacy and to celebrate his life, a gathering will be held in Ottawa, Illinois, at a later date. This celebration of life will be a chance for family and friends to share stories, laughter, and memories of Brad, reflecting on the joy he brought to those around him.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in support of a fund established for Jackson at Financial Plus Credit Union located in Ottawa, Illinois.
