GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — John Leonard finished with three goals and an assist Sunday as the Grand Rapids Griffins handled the Rockford IceHogs 5-1 at Van Andel Arena, wrapping up a two-game weekend sweep.

The game stayed tight into the third period. Leonard put the Griffins up 1-0 in the second, then scored again just 39 seconds after the third-period faceoff, the first of three power-play goals for Grand Rapids. William Lagesson and Wilmer Skoog added goals before Leonard capped his night on the power play with 38 seconds to go.

Michal Postava turned away 27 of the 28 shots he saw and is now 4-0, the most wins in the AHL. Leonard has five goals over three games since coming back from an injury, and Jacob Bryson had two assists for a second straight night.
