St. Petersburg residents can look forward to the opening of the city’s first Sprouts Farmers Market on November 14th. The new store, which is situated at 3411 32nd Avenue South in the Skyway Marina District, will serve as the anchor retail tenant for the new Sky Town development, a significant mixed-use community being erected by Miami-based Altis Cardinal.

The Sprouts store covers 23,000 square feet and forms part of a larger redevelopment project that encompasses 34.3 acres, previously home to the Ceridian office campus. Sky Town aims to transform the area into a vibrant community featuring 2,084 apartments, 69,000 square feet of retail space, and 120,000 square feet of self-storage facilities.

Construction of the new Sprouts location was managed by Hawkins Construction from Tarpon Springs. To celebrate the grand opening, the store will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6:45 a.m. on November 14th. The first 400 customers will receive complimentary sample-filled bags and long-stem roses. Following the grand opening, Sprouts will hold a three-day Pop-up Party featuring contests, scavenger hunts, and product samples to engage the community.

Sprouts Farmers Market has expanded its footprint in Florida and now operates over 50 stores statewide, in addition to more than 415 locations nationwide. Nearby locations include Kenneth City, Seminole, Largo, Clearwater, and Palm Harbor. The company is recognized for offering a unique farmer’s market experience, emphasizing fresh produce and organic products.

Customers can expect to find a variety of healthy items at the new store, including organic fruits, bulk foods, gluten-free, vegan, and keto-friendly products. Each Sprouts location features a full-service butcher counter with hand-cut meats, fresh seafood, as well as ready-made meals and private-label offerings. With its focus on providing affordable fresh food, Sprouts has become one of the top retailers for natural and organic foods in the country.

Sprouts was founded in 2002 and opened its first Florida store in 2017. The recent addition of the St. Petersburg store follows the recent opening of a location in Largo, further illustrating Sprouts’ growth trajectory in the state.

This new store is expected to boost the local community by providing residents with more access to fresh, healthy food options while also contributing to the development of the Skyway Marina District.
