St. Petersburg, FL – Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 39-year-old Reginald L. Booth, which took place on July 29, 2025. Booth succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds sustained during what authorities describe as a planned armed kidnapping. The St. Petersburg Police Department confirmed the arrests of Larrion Boyd, 18, and Keshaun Lamb, 19, who were taken into custody early on August 2, 2025, at the Pinellas County Jail.
The police responded to reports of gunfire in the 1200 block of 9th Avenue South at approximately 9:07 PM, where they found Booth with serious injuries. He was quickly transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.
Details surrounding the incident indicate that Booth was held at gunpoint by multiple individuals, including Boyd, Lamb, and a third suspect, Dnerius McCullough, aged 31. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects had scouted the area in advance and forcibly took Booth back and forth from his residence while threatening him with a firearm. During this ordeal, personal items were also seized from Booth.
Authorities believe that McCullough fired the shot that hit Booth near the suspect’s vehicle before all three suspects fled the scene. Video surveillance footage played a crucial role in the investigation, allowing authorities to identify the accused parties.
Boyd has been charged with first-degree murder, armed kidnapping, and armed burglary, while Lamb faces charges of first-degree murder and armed kidnapping. As for McCullough, who has yet to be apprehended, he has a lengthy criminal history and had recently been released from federal prison in April 2025. While police continue to investigate, no specific motive for Booth’s shooting has been disclosed as of yet.
The ongoing investigation involved the use of various investigative techniques, and witnesses were also consulted to piece together the series of events leading to the incident. Law enforcement is urging anyone with additional information to contact the St. Petersburg Police Department at 727-893-7780.
In the wake of the shooting, community members are left reeling. Booth’s untimely death highlights the ongoing concerns surrounding violent crime and safety in St. Petersburg. Officials are committed to pursuing further leads in the investigation and ensuring that justice is served.
