His family describes him as a man full of heart, humor, and devotion to those he loved, making his loss a profound one for the community.

A Life of Love and Family

Born to parents David and Julie Stafford, Brad lived a fulfilling life characterized by his unwavering support for his family and friends. His greatest joy stemmed from his role as a father, particularly his deep bond with his son, Jackson. Together, they shared passionate moments surrounding sports, which forged a lasting legacy of love and connection. Jackson, who was described as Brad’s proudest accomplishment, represented the true heartbeat of his life.

Passion for Sports and Culinary Arts

Brad was an enthusiastic sports fan, proudly supporting teams from Chicago and the New York Yankees. His infectious enthusiasm for sports created memorable experiences with friends and family. Brad’s talents extended beyond sports; he was also a master in the kitchen, often sharing his culinary creations with loved ones, further demonstrating his nurturing spirit.

Surviving Family Members

Brad is survived by his son, Jackson, and his partner, Alyssa Gaseor, both of whom reside in St. Petersburg, Florida. His family also includes his mother, Julie Stafford, from Tucson, Arizona, and his father, David (Kim) Stafford, of Ottawa, Illinois. In addition, his grandmother, Patricia Kirkman, of Tucson, and his sisters, Jessica Stafford of Ottawa, Illinois, and Megan Stafford of Arizona, mourn his passing. Several nieces and nephews, including Alex, Brady, and Carter Stafford, along with Brandon and Ashlyn Gutierrez, Nylah Cosper, and one great-niece, are also part of his surviving family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald Houchin, Roland, and Norma Stafford.

Final Arrangements

Cremation services for Brad will be handled by a local funeral home. A celebration of life is planned for a later date in Ottawa, Illinois, allowing family and friends to gather, share stories, enjoy food, and fondly remember him.

Memorial Contributions

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to support a fund established for his son, Jackson. This can be done at Financial Plus Credit Union in Ottawa, Illinois. This initiative provides an opportunity for community members to honor Brad’s memory by supporting his son’s future.
