To kick off festivities, the St. Pete Beach Library will host a Mother’s Day Bouquet workshop on May 8 at 4 p.m. Participants can create their own floral arrangements, with a limited number of supplies available. This event is a perfect way to make a unique gift for mothers.

Tacos & Tequila Festival

The highly anticipated Tacos & Tequila Festival will take place at Vinoy Park in St. Petersburg on May 8 from 4 to 10 p.m. and on May 9 from 12 to 8 p.m. The festival will feature over 100 taco options from 25 vendors, margaritas, live music, and wrestling matches. Ticket prices range from $7 to $59, with free admission for children under 13, making this event fun for the whole family.

Oyster Night

For seafood lovers, Mastry’s Brewing Co. in St. Pete Beach is hosting Oyster Night on Fridays from 5 to 9 p.m., featuring freshly shucked oysters paired with house-made sauces.

Rock the Rocks and More

On May 9, The Original Crabby Bill’s in Indian Rocks Beach will hold the Rock the Rocks event from 12 to 10 p.m. This free-entry event will showcase live music and local vendors. At the same time, Oh My Cod Vegan Seafood Co. will host a pop-up at Dissent Craft Brewing Company from 4 to 8 p.m., offering a plant-based seafood menu.

Entertainment and Art

Also on May 9, attendees can enjoy the Broadway Baby Wannabe cabaret featuring Laurie Loyst and Danny Beal at the Catherine A. Hickman Theater in Gulfport at 6:45 p.m. Tickets for this cabaret range from $40 to $50. The Second Saturday Art Walk will occur in downtown St. Pete from 5 to 9 p.m., offering a celebration of local art across several districts.

Mother’s Day Activities

Mother’s Day itself, May 10, will feature numerous special activities. The Moms & Mimosas event at The Wine House in Gulfport starts at 11 a.m., offering $6 mimosas and opportunities to shop from local vendors. Additionally, a Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet will be served at the TradeWinds Island Grand Resort between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., reservations are suggested for this popular event.

Also on May 10, the Lei’d Back event at Gulf Orchids from 1 to 5 p.m. will feature garden-themed art, snacks, and live music. An Open Jam session at The North End Tap House & Kitchen occurs from 3 to 6 p.m., providing acoustic instruments for participants. A Hot Girl Summer indoor night market is scheduled at The James Museum from 5 to 8 p.m., featuring local vendors and a chance to win a museum membership.

Writing and Craft Activities

The weekend continues with a Writers Group meeting in Gulfport on May 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., open to writers of all levels. Additionally, a Ceramic Trinket Dish Craft session will be held at Gulfport Public Library from 1 to 3 p.m., providing supplies for participants to create customized dishes.

Book Discussion

To conclude the weekend’s events, the Gabber Book Club will meet at Habana Café in Gulfport at 6:30 p.m., focusing on “Windstill Night” by Sarah A. Younger. Attendance does not require membership.
