Architectural rendering of Waldorf Astoria Residences in St. Petersburg

News Summary

St. Petersburg will soon introduce its tallest structure, the Waldorf Astoria Residences, stretching 539 feet. With 163 luxury condominiums priced from $2.5 million, this $500 million project will also incorporate office and retail spaces. Designed to enhance the skyline and add to the city’s economic growth, it features various high-end amenities including a rooftop penthouse and a resort-style pool deck. Construction is set to begin soon, marking a significant transformation for downtown St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg is set to welcome its tallest building, the Waldorf Astoria Residences, which will soar to 539 feet over 50 stories at 150 2nd Avenue South. The luxury tower aims to redefine the skyline with its striking design, as well as provide high-end living options to the city’s residents.

The project will include 163 condominiums, with prices starting at $2.5 million. A total development cost of approximately $500 million will fund the construction, designed by CUBE 3 Architecture, with interiors by BAMO. The building is being developed by Miami-based Property Markets Group (PMG) and St. Petersburg-based Feldman Equities, with management assistance from Hilton.

In addition to the luxury residences, the Waldorf Astoria Residences will house 73,000 square feet of Class A office space and 10,000 square feet for retail purposes, contributing to the economic growth of downtown St. Petersburg. The construction timeline for the project has not been revealed, but development work is anticipated to kick off later this year.

A Modern Living Experience

Each of the luxury residences will feature private entry foyers and balconies that overlook the beautiful coastal bay, with sizes ranging from 2,031 to 3,408 square feet. The units come equipped with high-end amenities, including custom-built closets, Italian bathroom vanities with stone countertops, and top-tier kitchens fitted with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances.

The building will also have a remarkable two-story rooftop penthouse complete with a private pool, offering stunning views of the bay. A comprehensive 20,000-square-foot resort-style pool deck located on the 18th floor will offer a range of relaxation options, including a 160-foot east pool, sunset pool with spas, lounge areas, and a bar. Additional amenities will include private massage rooms, saunas, steam rooms, and a fitness studio.

Exclusive Amenities

The residents of the Waldorf Astoria Residences will enjoy access to a Sky Lounge inspired by Peacock Alley situated on the 46th floor, featuring a sunset bar and amenity terrace. Moreover, the residents will receive personalized services, including a personal concierge, valet parking, and various a la carte services, enhancing the luxurious living experience.

Additional Development in St. Petersburg

Alongside the Waldorf Astoria Residences, other significant development projects are underway in St. Petersburg. Echelon, LLC has proposed two 31-story towers at 800 2nd Avenue South, which would include 824 residential apartments. This new development aims to enrich the area with high-end living spaces and retail shops. Moreover, the project will focus on pedestrian-friendly features and enhancing urban vibrancy across the city.

To accommodate the new construction of Echelon’s towers, the existing St. Petersburg College building is set for demolition. The proposed project will create over 400 units of affordable housing under 750 square feet and various studio options, without seeking city funding, demonstrating a commitment to attainability for residents.

Future Developments and Assistance

The Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will conduct final reviews of the new projects. For further infrastructure improvements, the city of St. Petersburg has secured $159.8 million in disaster recovery funding. This funding is expected to support the enhancement of housing along with various improvement projects across the city.

The Waldorf Astoria Residences signifies a monumental step in the transformation of St. Petersburg’s urban landscape, promising to offer luxurious living spaces and contribute significantly to the city’s economic growth.
