NEW YORK, N.Y. — Milwaukee will be well represented when baseball hands out its biggest individual honors next week. The Baseball Writers’ Association of America revealed its top three vote-getters for each major award on Monday, and the Brewers placed four people among the finalists.

Second baseman Brice Turang is up for National League Most Valuable Player, righthander Jacob Misiorowski is a Cy Young finalist, closer Trevor Megill is in the running for the new Relief Pitcher of the Year award and Pat Murphy is a Manager of the Year finalist for the third season in a row. Turang also collected his second Gold Glove on Sunday.

Turang’s competition for NL MVP is steep. Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong joined the 40-40 club with 45 homers and 41 steals, and Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers is chasing a fourth straight MVP. Misiorowski, who led the majors in strikeouts with 252, faces Atlanta’s Chris Sale and Philadelphia’s Cristopher Sánchez. Megill, who closed out 30 saves, is matched against Philadelphia’s Jhoan Duran and San Diego’s Mason Miller, while Murphy is up against Don Mattingly of the Phillies and Walt Weiss of the Braves.

In the American League, the MVP finalists are Houston’s Yordan Alvarez, Kansas City’s Bobby Witt Jr. and Tampa Bay third baseman Junior Caminero, who played all 162 games and hit 42 home runs. The AL Cy Young field is Toronto’s Dylan Cease, Cleveland rookie Parker Messick and New York’s Cam Schlittler, whose 1.95 ERA led the league.

Tampa Bay had two more finalists: closer Bryan Baker, who tied for the big league lead with 41 saves, and manager Kevin Cash, whose club went 98-64 for the best record in the AL. Murphy can become the first skipper to win Manager of the Year three straight times since the award began in 1983.

The reliever award is new this year. Rookie of the Year leads off the winner reveals, with every result coming out over the week that begins Nov. 9.
