ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Race fans who want a seat for next spring’s IndyCar opener on the streets of downtown St. Petersburg can start buying Friday. The public sale of weekend-long passes for next year’s race begins at 10 a.m. Eastern on Oct. 23.

The race weekend is set for March 5-7, 2027. It will be the 23rd year the event has taken over the downtown waterfront, and for the 17th time it will serve as the first race of the NTT IndyCar Series season.

Pricing for the three-day packages begins at $95 for general admission and $150 for a reserved grandstand seat. Kids 12 and under can get junior pricing. Fans who want more access can add pit passes or a paddock pass, and young racing fans between 5 and 12 can join the Rookie Racers program.

Returning customers got a head start: the event opened ticket renewals on Thursday, a day before the public sale. Passes are sold through the event’s own website, gpstpete.com.

Anyone hoping for a single day at the track will need to wait. Single-day tickets are planned for release after the new year, and organizers have said the full racing and festival lineup for the weekend will come later.

The early opener is part of what makes the race stand out on the IndyCar calendar. Teams and drivers arrive in St. Petersburg after the winter break, and the temporary circuit through downtown streets and along the waterfront gives the city a national spotlight each March.

For buyers, the main choice Friday is between general admission, which lets fans move around the course, and reserved grandstand seating at a set spot. Add-on passes bring fans closer to the cars and crews, and the youth membership is aimed at families with young children who follow the sport.

Race weekend also includes community events tied to the Grand Prix, such as a 5K run and walk that benefits the Police Athletic League.
